From what I gathered, her parents had hard times financially and they worried about finding apartments to live in that were affordable and her father had feelings of failure as a coach-builder. I would describe Catherine as an encourager, at even a young age, she was very devout in her Christianity (she had read the Bible 8 times by age 12). She was either blessed by God with a spirit of learning, encouragement, love and compassion for other people, or her parents raised her right from a very early age! We can't forget the importance of her parents and her upbringing as to her personality and her serving attitude.
